   Een orkestband (muziekband) bevat een opname van de begeleiding voor een zanger of zangeres. Door gebruik te maken van een orkestband kan een artiest een live-uitvoering doen zonder dat er instrumenten en muzikanten nodig zijn.

  Dit werk is bestemd voor de muzikant die geen begeleider kan vinden om mee samen te spelen of zich slechts wil bekwamen in het musiceren met anderen.

   Karaoke dst

 "Karaoke" is een Japans woord en betekent letterlijk "leeg orkest". Men bedoelt daarmee een opname van de begeleiding van een compositie zonder de solistenpartij. In Japan hebben vele cafés de mogelijkheid dat de één of andere gast iets zingt gelijktijdig met de op geluidsdrager aangebrachte begeleiding. Karaoke for een solo-instrument is dus bedoeld voor de muzikant die meespeelt met de geluidsdrager, in dit geval een compact disk. De in het bijbehorende boek staande melodieën worden eerst compleet uitgevoerd door Vladimir Yefrémov, daarna volgt de stemtoon en dan de begeleiding.
